How Does It Work?
GroundStation offers a complete website building service to small businesses that takes all the pain and confusion out of the process. The steps below set out our normal process in developing a new website so you know what to expect.
Step 1 – First lets have a chat.
- This is where we sit down and talk through the purpose of your website and work out what your unique requirements are.
- It is vitally important to establish these ground rules at the beginning of the process to ensure we get the right result at the end..
Step 2 – Then we write down your requirements and put design together.
- After we have discussed and understood your needs, we will go away and bring all your requirements together and write them down.
- We also create a design for you that is made up of a map of all the web pages and some example web pages which will be used as "blue prints" for your site.
- All the information you want on the site will also be required at this stage and you have the option of creating this yourself or getting us to do it for you. We call this the content document.
- These three things, your written requirements, the example web pages and the content document are all we need to get started.
Step 3 - Building the website
- Once you are happy with what we have done in step 2 we will go away and build it.
- This involves taking the content document and using it to build the actual web pages according to the site map and the example designs.
- We link all these pages together to create your website and make sure it does everything you said it needed to in the requirements.
- When we have almost finished building the site we let you have a private look at it and ask you what needs to be changed.
- There is always something that is not quite right and this is quite a normal thing to do.
- We then go away and make these changes and get you to have another look.
- You get one last chance to ask for changes and then we are ready to go.
Step 4 - Time to go live!

- Website hosting means we will provide you with hard disk space that is accessible from the internet and means anyone can get to your website.
- We will also help you register a domain name for your business like "www.yourbusiness.com.au"
- All this means that when you are happy with what we have done we just turn it on with no extra work on your part.
- You are now online!
Step 5- Maintain and Promote
- Setting up your website is just the start!
